I think universally, people view roses as a symbol of beauty. I don’t want this concept to be focused on beauty of course, I want this idea to expand to other things like love, happiness, etc - things come with a price. You give to receive, whatever that may be. So when I designed this sticker, I had the silhouette of my person covered by a few roses and rose buds to represent the beauty but the thorny vines is also wrapped around the neck.

SUFFOCATING

WHAT YOU SEE
IS ONLY AN ILLUSION
THAT WAS CREATED
WHAT YOU CAN’T SEE
ARE THE SCARS OF MY PAST
AND THE UNREALISTIC EXPECTATION OF OTHERS
THAT’S GOTTEN A HOLD OF ME
WRAPPED AROUND MY NECK
SUFFOCATING ME

Each poem is written by me, found in my book “Just Thought You Should Know”, which you can find here!

I would like to say that I will be donating a portion of my profit (from all purchases)* to organizations supporting child and teen mental health†.

You can find out more about why by clicking here

I will be posting donation updates on my Instagram @storyofthomast

*Currently, this will be an ongoing thing, but I must include an asterisk to protect me legally because due to unknown circumstances, I may not be able to continue with the donations.

†Please note that your purchases will first and foremost be supporting me and my art. Yes, I will be making donations but that is something I intended to be cut out of my profits, not something I added to the cost of my product to come out of your pocket. Again, to legally protect me, I want to emphasize that your decision to purchase from me is to support my art, not to donate to my cause.
